Neopets Support Categories

1. Abuse Reports

Purpose:
Abuse reports are meant to address any inappropriate behavior, rule violations, or harmful activities that occur on Neopets, such as harassment, scams, or other misconduct.

Details to Include:

  • Offender’s Username: Ensure you provide the exact username of the individual involved.
  • Specific Incident Description: Outline what happened clearly, including any malicious or inappropriate actions, with precise dates and times.
  • Supporting Evidence: Attach screenshots, logs, or links that clearly show the abusive behavior. These will help validate your report.
  • Context: If the abuse occurred in a specific location (e.g., on the Neoboards, Neomail, etc.), specify where it happened.

Tips for Success:

  • Stay professional and avoid inflammatory language.
  • Provide clear, actionable evidence. A ticket without evidence is much harder for the support team to act upon.

Wheel of Monotony – How Long Does the Wheel Take to Stop in Neopets?

The Wheel of Monotony, located on the Tyrannian Plateau, offers players a daily chance to win various prizes, including Neopoints, codestones, and even a special avatar. However, unlike many other wheels on Neopets, the Wheel of Monotony is infamous for its unpredictable spin duration, which can be frustrating for players who want to know exactly how long they need to wait for their rewards.

Wheel of Monotony

What is the Wheel of Monotony?

The Wheel of Monotony is a daily feature in Neopets, allowing players to spin it for 150 Neopoints once every 24 hours. The wheel offers various rewards, but its defining characteristic is the seemingly endless spin time.

How Long Does the Wheel Take to Stop?

Unlike other wheels on Neopets, which typically complete their spins in a short amount of time, the Wheel of Monotony is notorious for its unpredictable duration. The spin can take anywhere from a few hours to as long as 24 hours to finish. This means that you could be waiting for a long time before the wheel stops, depending on the luck of the spin.

Why Is the Spin Time So Unpredictable?

The reason for the varying spin durations is not entirely clear, but it is part of the wheel’s design to add an element of monotony and unpredictability to the experience. Some players have speculated that the length of time the wheel spins could be tied to the game’s random number generator, adding an element of chance to both the prize and the spin duration.

What Happens If I Close the Wheel?

It’s important to note that if you close the tab or navigate away while the Wheel of Monotony is spinning, you will lose your spin for the day. This means that the wheel is a “stay open” experience—keep the tab open to ensure your spin continues uninterrupted. You can minimize the tab and do other things, but if you close it, your spin will be forfeited, and you’ll have to wait another day to try again.

What Prizes Can You Win?

The Wheel of Monotony offers a variety of prizes, such as:

  • Neopoints
  • Codestones
  • Items for your Neopet
  • A chance to win the exclusive Wheel of Monotony avatar

Though the spin time is a gamble, the rewards can be valuable, especially if you’re aiming to collect the avatar or receive a codestone for battling.

Can I Do Anything While Waiting?

Due to the prolonged spin durations, many players choose to minimize the Wheel of Monotony tab and engage in other activities while they wait for the spin to complete. This way, you don’t feel like you’re wasting time, and you can return to check the wheel whenever it finishes. Just make sure you don’t accidentally close the tab, or you’ll lose that day’s spin.

Conclusion

In summary, the Wheel of Monotony is an unpredictable and unique feature of Neopets. Its spin durations can vary widely, taking anywhere from a few hours to up to 24 hours to stop. While the unpredictability can be a little frustrating, the chance to win valuable prizes, including Neopoints and codestones, makes it worth the wait. Just remember to keep the tab open to avoid losing your spin and enjoy the excitement of the wheel’s ever-changing pace!

Therapeutic Swamp Water in Neopets: A Guide to Its Use and Value

Therapeutic Swamp Water is one of those peculiar items in Neopets that tends to fly under the radar. While it may seem like a simple item at first glance, it has a specific purpose that can be a helpful boost for players training their pets or working on specific goals.

Therapeutic Swamp Water

What is Therapeutic Swamp Water?

Therapeutic Swamp Water is an item in Neopets that primarily affects your pet’s stats. It is designed to increase a pet’s level and defense by 0 to 1, with the added benefit of healing your pet’s hit points to maximum whenever the stat increase occurs. This makes it a useful tool for players who need to boost their pet’s defense or level without waiting for the long, slow process of traditional training.

However, one of the key points to note is that the effect is not guaranteed. The item has a chance (roughly 1 in 10) to increase your pet’s defense, making it somewhat unreliable. But when it works, the results can be satisfying, as it can boost stats and heal your pet in one go.

Why Has the Price Increased?

The price of Therapeutic Swamp Water has recently seen an increase, though the reason for this surge isn’t entirely clear. There are a few potential explanations:

  1. Increased Demand from Plot Participation: As Neopets events like plots occur, items like Therapeutic Swamp Water can become more desirable for players looking to quickly level up or increase their stats to gain an advantage. This is especially true for players involved in the Battledome, where boosting a pet’s defense or level can be crucial.
  2. Rarity During Plot Events: When plot events or specific challenges are introduced, certain items can become rarer or harder to obtain. This can create a spike in demand for items that help players progress faster, leading to higher prices.
  3. Speculation on Future Availability: Players who are unsure of when this item will be available again may choose to stockpile it, driving the price up even further. There’s always a chance that once a plot ends, the item could be cycled out or its supply could be significantly reduced.

When Should You Use Therapeutic Swamp Water?

Therapeutic Swamp Water is a gamble, and as such, it’s not always the best option for players looking for guaranteed results. If your goal is to quickly level up or boost defense, there are other more reliable training methods available. However, if you’re looking to save time during a specific plot or event, using Therapeutic Swamp Water might be a good choice, especially if you have a surplus of them.

For example, during times when you want to expedite reaching the defense cap or push your pet’s stats for a specific event (such as the Battledome or a plot), it can be helpful to use these items sparingly, hoping for a stat increase to save you time and effort.

Should You Sell or Save?

Deciding whether to sell or save your Therapeutic Swamp Water depends largely on your current goals:

  • Sell Now: If you’re not using the item for plot-related goals or don’t have a BD pet that you’re focusing on, selling Therapeutic Swamp Water could be a good idea, especially if the price is high at the moment. The supply may increase, or the demand may drop after the plot ends, leading to a price decrease.
  • Save for Later: On the other hand, if you anticipate needing the item in the future (for a potential new plot or a new feature that may come), saving them could prove useful. Just remember that the item’s stats increase is not guaranteed, so saving large quantities may not be the most efficient use of your resources unless you’re specifically working on a stat-based goal.

Conclusion

Therapeutic Swamp Water is an interesting item in the world of Neopets, offering a chance to improve your pet’s defense and level while healing them. Although the price has increased, the item remains a bit of a gamble due to its low probability of success. Whether you choose to sell or save it, knowing when to use this item can be the key to making the most of its benefits. Keep an eye on its price trends and be mindful of how you incorporate it into your pet’s training regimen.

But before ye dive in, let me chart the course for ye, so ye can make the best decision for yer pet’s training needs. Grab yer compass, and let’s navigate through the Dubloons, the training process, and all the perks of training at the Academy!

Swashbuckling Academy Neopets: A Complete Guide to Training Your Neopets

What is the Swashbuckling Academy?

The Swashbuckling Academy be run by the legendary Cap’n Threelegs, a wise White Eyrie known for his fierce spirit and no-nonsense approach to training Neopets. Located on Krawk Island, the Academy provides training to pets eager to level up their Strength, Defence, Speed, and more, preparing them for whatever challenges lie ahead in the Battledome or just to become a true swashbuckler in Neopia!

While the Academy may not offer the fastest training, it’s an affordable and reliable choice for those who wish to boost their pet’s stats without breaking the bank. Let’s sail through the essentials and get yer pet on the path to greatness!

Dubloons: The Currency of Krawk Island

What Are Dubloons?

Dubloons be the heart of commerce on Krawk Island, the very currency ye need to pay for yer pet’s training at the Academy. There are a whole slew of Dubloon Coins with different values, but ye’ll mostly use One, Two, and Five Dubloon Coins to pay for training. The higher the level of yer pet, the more Dubloons ye’ll need.

  • One Dubloon Coin: Perfect for training low-level pets.
  • Two Dubloon Coin: For pets with slightly more experience.
  • Five Dubloon Coin: The big spender, needed for higher-level training.

How to Get Dubloons?

Ye can obtain Dubloons from a variety of places, including other users, Coltzan’s Shrine, and Anchor Management. If ye be lookin’ for a quick purchase, the Shop Wizard can help ye find a good deal, or ye can wait for a daily for a freebie. However, if ye wish to get yer pet trained faster, ye might want to consider buying Dubloons instead of waiting for them to fall from the sky!

Dubloons vs. Codestones: Which is Better?

Back in the day, ye had to choose between Dubloons and Codestones when it came to training, but now with the addition of dailies like Anchor Management, Dubloons have become a cheaper option. However, some players still wonder if Codestones might be the better deal, especially if they can find them for a lower price.

  • Dubloons: Generally cheaper, easier to obtain, and great for those looking to save time.
  • Codestones: Might still be cheaper in some cases, but training with Codestones can be a bit more unpredictable, with random stat boosts and longer wait times.

Training Speed vs. Cost

While Codestones may offer slightly faster training, Dubloons provide a more predictable experience. It comes down to what’s more important to ye: speed or saving a few Neopoints?

How to Train at the Swashbuckling Academy

The Training Process

Once ye’ve got yer Dubloons ready, it’s time to enroll yer pet in one of the Academy’s courses. To begin, ye’ll see five options on the Academy’s page:

  • Main: This will take ye back to the main overview of the Academy.
  • Courses: This is where ye choose which pet to enroll in a class, the cost, and how long the training will take.
  • Status: This page shows the pets currently in training and their progress.
  • Sayings: Here, ye’ll find the wise words of Cap’n Threelegs (mostly for entertainment, but sometimes useful).
  • Leave: This’ll take ye back to the map of Neopia.

Don’t forget: yer pet’s training doesn’t start until ye’ve paid, and once the payment is made, ye’ll see how long it’ll take for yer pet to complete their lessons. If ye made a mistake and sent the wrong pet to training, don’t fret! The Academy lets ye cancel training if ye haven’t paid yet.

The Costs of Training: What to Expect

Training at the Swashbuckling Academy is more affordable than the Mystery Island Training School, but it does come with a catch—longer training times. Here’s what yer pet will face in terms of cost and training duration:

Course TypePet LevelCostLength
Sea Urchin10 and Under1 Dubloon Coin4 Hours
Deckhand11 – 202 Dubloon Coins6 Hours
Pirate21 – 305 Dubloon Coins8 Hours
Cap’n31 – 405 Dubloon Coins10 Hours

Ye can speed up the process using the Training Fortune Cookie, which shortens training time by 30-75% for a set period. However, once yer pet hits Level 40, they can no longer train at the Academy, so they’ll need to find another training option.

Free Training Days: A Treasure for Premium Users

Free training days are a special gift for Neopets players on three occasions each year:

  • November 15th: Neopets’ birthday, a day of celebration and free training!
  • Your Pet’s Species Day: Celebrate your pet’s special day with a free training session.
  • Premium User Perk: Premium users get a free training day the day after their pet’s birthday, not on the birthday itself.

What Happens After Training?

Once yer pet completes their course, ye’ll see a stat boost depending on which class they were enrolled in. Endurance boosts Hit Points, while Strength, Defence, and Speed will raise the corresponding stats. On rare occasions, yer pet might even get a bonus boost, where their stat increases by more than one point!

Should You Train at the Swashbuckling Academy?

The decision to train yer pet depends on what yer goals are. If yer aiming to compete in the Battledome, collect avatars, or prepare for a plot, training at the Academy can be a worthwhile investment. Whether ye be training for fun or for fame, Swashbuckling Academy offers a solid foundation for any aspiring Neopet warrior.

Conclusion: Time to Set Sail!

Now that ye’ve got the lowdown on training at the Swashbuckling Academy, it’s time to decide what’s best for yer pet. Whether ye choose to pay with Dubloons, wait for a free training day, or weigh the benefits of speed versus cost, the Academy offers a reliable way to level up yer pet’s stats and prepare for the challenges ahead in Neopia. So grab yer Dubloons, choose yer course, and let Cap’n Threelegs show yer pet the ropes!

This customization not only makes your pet visually appealing but also adds a personal touch to your Neopian journey.

Here are the main ways to style your pet:

Exploring the Paint Brush Collection

Paint Brushes are a cornerstone of Pet Styles Neopets. These magical tools allow you to transform your pet into stunning colors and designs, from Royal to Faerie, to Halloween and beyond. Each Paint Brush offers a distinct aesthetic, and some even come with unique clothing sets that add extra flair.

Wearables are often found in NC Mall Mystery Capsules, which provide a fun and unpredictable way to expand your collection.

Morphing Potions: A Bold Transformation

If you’re looking to make a dramatic change, Morphing Potions are the way to go. These potions allow you to change your Neopet’s species and sometimes even their color. Changing Your Neopet’s Gender: A Complete Guide

Ever found yourself wishing to change your Neopet’s gender? Whether you accidentally selected the wrong option during creation or simply want a fresh look for your pet, the good news is that there are ways to make this change! This guide covers all the methods available to customize your Neopet’s gender and explains the nuances of their effects.

Changing Your Neopet's Gender

Methods to Change Your Neopet’s Gender

1. The Lab Ray

The Lab Ray is a popular method for changing your Neopet’s gender, among other things. However, this method comes with a few risks and unpredictabilities. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Chance of Success: There’s an 8% chance that a zap from the Lab Ray will change your pet’s gender.
  • Potential Changes: The Lab Ray may also alter your Neopet’s species, color, or stats (e.g., strength, intelligence, or hit points).
  • Access: Unlocking the Lab Ray requires purchasing all nine pieces of the Secret Laboratory Map, which can be obtained from other users or as rewards in-game.

If you’re comfortable with a bit of randomness, keep zapping your pet until the desired gender is achieved. Just be prepared for other unexpected changes along the way!

2. Fighting the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome

A more controlled method is battling the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome. The Scientist wields a weapon called the Strange Potion, which can change your Neopet’s gender during the fight. Here’s how to use this method effectively:

  • How to Encounter the Scientist: Refresh the “Select a Pet” page in the Lab Ray area until the Lab Ray Scientist is added as a Battledome challenger.
  • What to Expect: The gender change occurs if the Scientist uses the Strange Potion on your pet during the battle. You don’t need to win the battle for the change to take place.
  • Account Rules: Since Battledome battles award Neopoints and items, they must be conducted on a main account. If your pet is on a side account, transfer it to your main account (or a friend’s main account) to use this method.

This option is ideal if you’d rather avoid the unpredictability of the Lab Ray.

3. Using Items

Certain items in Neopia can directly or indirectly change your pet’s gender. These include:

  • Strange Potion: The same potion used by the Lab Ray Scientist in the Battledome can also be purchased and applied to your Neopet outside of battle. While the potion is costly, it’s a reliable way to make a gender change without the risks of other modifications.
  • Royal Morphing Potions: If you’re looking for a specific gender and color combination, Royal Boy and Royal Girl Kyrii Morphing Potions are a fantastic choice. These potions will:
    • Change your Neopet’s gender.
    • Paint your Neopet with the Royal color corresponding to the gender.
  • Witchy Negg: This item has a chance of changing your Neopet’s gender, but it may also alter other traits, such as species, intelligence, or hit points. Note that it can also cure diseases.

When considering items, weigh their cost against the Lab Ray or Battledome methods to determine the best approach for your needs.

Effects of Gender Changes on Appearance

Changing your Neopet’s gender can alter its appearance, particularly for pets with customizable clothing or specific paint brush effects. Here are some important points to consider:

Gender-Specific Features

Since the introduction of customization in 2007, male and female Neopets have subtle differences in appearance. For example, female pets often have longer eyelashes, while males have simpler facial designs.

Impact on Painted Pets

  • Royal, Elderly, Usuki, and Quiguki Paint Brushes:
    • Changing the gender of a painted pet will not switch it to the opposite gender’s paint job. For example, a Royal Boy Zafara that becomes female will retain the Royal Boy clothing but will gain fluttery lashes and other female traits.
    • If your painted pet’s gender changes via the Lab Ray, the pet’s entire color and design may be altered.
  • Closet Items: Gender-specific clothing, like those from Royal or Usuki paint jobs, remains in your closet even if your pet changes gender.

Pet Styles

Pet Styles, which offer unique appearances, are not affected by gender changes. The style remains consistent regardless of your Neopet’s gender.

Defunct Methods

Historically, there was a glitch involving the Cape of The Sun, which could randomly change a male Neopet’s gender to female. This method has since been fixed by The Neopets Team (TNT) and is no longer an option.

Choosing the Best Method for Your Needs

When deciding how to change your Neopet’s gender, consider the following:

  • Do you want other changes (like stats or species)? If yes, the Lab Ray is a fun, adventurous choice.
  • Do you prefer precision and reliability? Battling the Lab Ray Scientist or using items like the Strange Potion will provide controlled results.
  • Do you want a gender change with a specific paint job? Consider Royal Morphing Potions for a two-in-one transformation.

No matter which method you choose, you’ll be able to customize your Neopet to suit your preferences. Happy gender-swapping, and enjoy your new look!

Neopets Neggery

The Neggery is a special location on Terror Mountain, run by Kari and her apprentice Zaira, where players can exchange specific Neggs for Negg Points. These Negg Points can be spent on special Neggs that provide unique effects when fed to your Neopet. Here’s a closer look at how it works:

neggery

Location and Operating Hours

  • Location: The Neggery is found in the Ice Caves of Terror Mountain.
  • Operating Hours: The Neggery is closed daily from 4 pm to 6 pm NST.

Trading in Neggs for Negg Points

Not all Neggs can be exchanged for Negg Points, but some can be found from sources such as:

  • Snowager’s Lair
  • Random Events
  • Dice-A-Roo
  • The Food Shop in Neopia Central

From October 2008 to September 2014, Key Quest was also a significant source for Neggs, although this ended with the game’s closure.

Neggs You Can Exchange for Points

The following is a list of Neggs and their respective Negg Point values:

  • Battle Duck Negg – 8 points
  • Blue Flower Easter Negg – 2 points
  • Candy Cane Negg – 6 points
  • Chocolate Orange Easter Negg – 22 points
  • Christmas Pattern Negg – 8 points
  • Decorative Negg – 6 points
  • Faerie Easter Negg – 8 points
  • Festival Negg – 4 points
  • Fish Negg – 50 points
  • Maple Syrup Negg – 6 points
  • Negg Cream Cookie – 11 points
  • Negg of Marble – 25 points
  • Orange Negg – 4 points
  • Pastel Swirl Easter Negg – 8 points
  • Punegg – 9 points
  • Rainbow Negg – 6 points
  • Strawberry Swirl Easter Negg – 16 points
  • Super Icy Negg – 4 points
  • Yellow Negg – 6 points

Using Negg Points to Buy Special Neggs

Once you accumulate Negg Points, you can spend them on special Neggs, ranging from 4 Negg Points to 247 Negg Points. These Neggs often have special effects when fed to your pet, which can be highly beneficial.

For more details on Negg effects and their benefits, check out the Negg Effects Guide on Neopets.

The Festival of Neggs and Time-Limited Changes

In April 2024, as part of the Festival of Neggs and the The Void Within plot, Kari appeared with a grey curse. This tied into changes within the Neggery, though it remains unclear how long this change will last.

Is It Worth It?

The value of exchanging Neggs for Negg Points and buying special Neggs largely depends on market trends, so it’s wise to keep an eye on the Negg Point Trade-In Guide and the Neggery Purchase Guide to make the best decisions based on your current resources.

Secret Ninja Training School: A Guide to Advanced Training and Prizes

The Secret Ninja Training School is an exclusive training location for high-level pets in Neopets. Only pets at level 250 or higher are eligible to train here, which provides access to advanced courses beyond what’s available at the regular Mystery Island Training School. If you try to access this secret school with a lower-level pet, you’ll encounter a mysterious message warning you of the risks.

Secret Ninja Training School

Location of the Secret Ninja Training School

Finding the Secret Ninja Training School may be a little tricky. The school is located in the Techo Mountain, and you must click the stairs in the highlighted section of the image to enter. Even though the entire Techo Mountain outlines in blue when you hover over it, you need to click the stairs to access the training school. It’s called “secret” for a reason, and this hidden feature adds an element of mystery to your training journey.

Codestones: Currency for Training

To begin training, you’ll need red codestones. These are the currency for courses at the Secret Ninja Training School. To obtain red codestones, you can trade in tan codestones at Techo Mountain, buy them from other players via the Shop Wizard, or receive them as Battledome prizes. There are six different types of red codestones, which are:

  • Cui Codestone
  • Kew Codestone
  • Mag Codestone
  • Sho Codestone
  • Vux Codestone
  • Zed Codestone

Training Courses and Costs

The courses at the Secret Ninja Training School are divided based on your pet’s level, and each course has different costs and durations. The higher your pet’s level, the more codestones you’ll need to pay for training. Below is a breakdown of the levels, codestone costs, and duration of each course:

Level RangeCodestones RequiredDuration
250-29914 hours
300-39926 hours
400-49938 hours
500-599410 hours
600-749512 hours
750+612 hours

You can shorten these training durations by using a Training Fortune Cookie (5-day duration) or a Deluxe Training Fortune Cookie (10-day duration), which can reduce training time by 30-75%.

Stat Training Restrictions

At the Secret Ninja Training School, you can train five different statistics: Strength, Defence, Agility, Endurance, and Level. However, there are some restrictions on how much you can train. For example, you cannot train a stat beyond twice your pet’s level, except for Endurance (HP), which can be trained up to three times your pet’s level.

Additionally, if your Endurance stat exceeds twice your pet’s level, you won’t be able to train any stat other than Level or Endurance. Once your Endurance is no more than double your pet’s level, you’ll be able to resume training other stats.

Completing a Course and Stat Boosts

After completing a course, your pet will typically gain 1 point in the stat trained. However, there are occasional bonuses:

  • +2 points: 1/10 chance (10%)
  • +3 points: 1/100 chance (1%)
  • +4 points: 1/1000 chance (0.1%)
  • +5 points: 1/10,000 chance (0.01%)
  • +6 points: 1/100,000 chance (0.001%)

These bonuses are rare but exciting, adding an element of luck to your pet’s training.

The Secret Ninja Shop

There is also a small Secret Ninja Shop within the school where you can purchase useful battle items. You can only buy one item every 30 minutes, and the prices are usually higher than those in player-run shops. However, the items available are unique to the Secret Ninja Training School.

The Mysterious Statue

Lastly, inside the Secret Ninja Training School, there’s a mysterious statue. You can donate Neopoints to the statue in exchange for a Pearl of Wisdom. While there’s no known major effect of donating Neopoints to the statue, it’s a quirky feature of the training school that many players enjoy.

By training at the Secret Ninja Training School, your pet can gain valuable skills and become even stronger, but you’ll need to invest in codestones and patience to reap the rewards. Whether you’re enhancing your pet’s stats for Battledome victories or aiming for a perfectly trained pet, the school offers a unique and challenging experience.
