Tarla’s Shop of Mystery
Neopia has long been a realm filled with surprises and hidden treasures, and one of its enduring mysteries is Tarla’s Shop of Mystery. In the present day, this enigmatic shop continues to captivate Neopians with its alluring promises of prizes, rare items, and the lingering thrill of uncovering hidden secrets.
Tarla’s Shop of Mystery Today
Tarla, the adventurous character known for her sporadic appearances across Neopia, has found a permanent residence in her Shop of Mystery. Unlike the past events that spanned specific dates, Tarla’s Shop of Mystery is now a fixture in the Neopian landscape, offering a perpetual sense of excitement for those seeking the unknown.
The Shop’s Layout
Navigating Tarla’s Shop of Mystery is a straightforward yet tantalizing experience. The shop is divided into sections that house different categories of items, each wrapped in an air of mystery. As Neopians explore the shop, they encounter a variety of goods, from wearable items to trinkets that add a touch of Neopian flair to their inventories.
How Tarla Works
The essence of Tarla’s Shop of Mystery lies in the unpredictability of the items available for purchase. Neopians can buy a Mystery Bag from the shop, and the contents are entirely random. This unpredictability adds an element of suspense and surprise, as players eagerly await the revelation of their chosen mystery item.
Uncovering Mist: The Modern Twist
In the current iteration of Tarla’s Shop of Mystery, the concept of uncovering mist has evolved. Instead of the mist being tied to specific events or timeframes, players can now purchase Tarla’s Mystery Bag to unveil mist sections. The mist, once a symbol of limited-time events, now adds an ongoing layer of mystery to the shop’s experience.
Prizes and Surprises
The allure of Tarla’s Shop of Mystery lies not just in the act of purchasing, but in the potential rewards that await. Neopians may discover exclusive wearables, rare items, or other surprises that add a sense of uniqueness to their collections. The thrill of not knowing what might be inside each Mystery Bag keeps players coming back for more.
Costs and Considerations
While the excitement of mystery is palpable, players should be mindful of the Neopoint cost associated with each Mystery Bag. The contents may vary in value, and occasionally, players might find themselves with an item that surpasses the cost of the bag, adding an extra layer of strategy to the mystery.
Tarla’s Shop of Mystery Community
As Neopians continue to explore Tarla’s Shop of Mystery, a sense of community has developed around this shared experience. Players discuss their findings, share strategies, and celebrate the surprises they uncover. The shop has become more than just a marketplace; it’s a communal hub where Neopians come together to embrace the thrill of the unknown.
If Tarla is not going to be here at all today, you will see the message below:
Tarla is busy with her other chores today. Check back tomorrow to see if she’s back!
If you see the message below, you know Tarla will be coming by today:
Tarla is at the prize warehouse right now. Check back later to see if she’s here!
The message above means that Tarla will be coming by at four random times today, each time within one of four 6-hour periods, to give out prizes. If she has already visited during a 6-hour slot, even the last one, this message will still appear until the end of the day. Don’t let it trick you to keep on searching for her.

Tarla stays for 15-16 minutes at a time. In the first THREE (3) MINUTES she arrives, she will award you the Main Prize of the day. Everyone who finds her within the first three minutes of any of her visits that day receives the same Main Prize. If it is a Secret Laboratory Map Piece, everyone will receive the same piece. Past Main Prize items range from Books to Paint Brushes to Stamps to Furniture to Battledome items to Food.
When you catch her during that time, you will see Tarla holding a box with many items appearing and disappearing very quickly inside it for a few seconds.
Then, you will be awarded the Main Prize of the day.

Afterwards, Tarla starts to leave and drops some things on her way out. If you missed her in the first three minutes, you have a chance to pick up a random rare item she drops while she is still lingering in the next 12-13 minutes.
After several items appear and disappear very quickly for a few seconds, the random rare item you have picked up is revealed to you.

Tarla visits FOUR (4) TIMES A DAY between the following intervals: She will appear between 10 minutes after the hour to 45* minutes after the hour during the following hours. So, check for Tarla at (all times are in Neopian Standard Time):
Interval | Hours |
I | 1:10AM-1:45AM, or 2:10AM-2:45AM, or 3:10AM-3:45AM, or 4:10AM-4:45AM, or 5:10AM-5:45AM |
II | 7:10AM-7:45AM, or 8:10AM-8:45AM, or 9:10AM-9:45AM, or 10:10AM-10:45AM, or 11:10AM-11:45AM |
III | 1:10PM-1:45PM, or 2:10PM-2:45PM, or 3:10PM-3:45PM, or 4:10PM-4:45PM, or 5:10PM-5:45PM |
IV | 7:10PM-7:45PM, or 8:10PM-8:45PM, or 9:10PM-9:45PM, or 10:10PM-10:45PM, or 11:10PM-11:45PM |
* Her visits can start 45 minutes after the hour, but they can end as late as 59 minutes after the hour.
The time Tarla arrives between each interval is random, except that she will only start appearing 10 minutes after the hour. She will also not appear at the hour of 6 or 12 (AM and PM). The best way to catch her for the Main Prize is to refresh the page each minute during the interval she has yet to appear in. For example:
If you’re looking for Tarla in between 1:10 PM – 5:59 PM (the 3rd interval), you would start refreshing every minute from 1:10 PM (so refresh at 1:10 PM, at 1:11 PM, etc.) to 1:45 PM. If Tarla has not shown up, you start again refreshing every minute from 2:10 PM until 2:45 PM. Then, again at 3:10 – 3:45 PM, 4:10 – 4:45 PM, and 5:10 – 5:45 PM. If you keep checking this way, you find Tarla sometime along the way.
Another way to catch Tarla is to refresh on the Help Chat NeoBoard OR the Game Chat NeoBoard and wait for someone to make a “Tarla” post topic. This does not guarantee that you will get the Main Prize or any Prize at all, because the user posting may have caught her too late during her visit.
If you have already collected a Main or dropped Prize for the day and catch Tarla again, you will see the message below:
Tarlas says:
I can only give you one prize per day!
You will have to wait until tomorrow to receive more prizes. You are not allowed to use your side accounts to visit Tarla as this is earning items. Please, collect items only on your main account!
